Panning Tips: Monochromatic Makeup

I have posted a few times about panning my Bite Beauty lip crayon in Glace. I’m pretty close to finishing it. I have panned quite a few lip products now and I wanted to share one of my favourite tips.

When you really want to use up a product, try using it in more than one way. Here I did a monochromatic look by using the lip crayon as eye shadow, blush and lipstick.

Most lipsticks make really decent cream eyeshadows. Depending on the formula you may want to use them in different ways. I would use a more glossy formula on top of eye shadow to make it more shiny and glossy. A creamy formula can be used as an eye shadow primer. A dry, longwearing formula like this can be used just by itself on the eyes and it will stay there all day and look nice.

I thought it would bring out the pink tones in my rose gold eye shadow (also a panning project) so I put it on the outer corners.

The lip crayon didn’t work the best as blush, The colour blended into nothing on my cheeks. Usually lipsticks make great blush but this one is an exception. A more sticky formula can be used under powder blush to make it last longer.

If you try out my tips I’m sure your product will be panned in no time at all! I’ll update you when this one is done. I think it has about a week left.

Cheers!
