Repressing Makeup: Bronzers

A little while ago my NARS Laguna bronzer broke and I switched t use my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in light. Unfortunately that one broke too. A corner smashed and powder got everywhere.
I decided to take the opportunity to combine them into one bronzer.

I didn’t love the Butter Bronzer as much as everyone else does. I found it patchy and orange sometimes, and other times it wouldn’t show up at all. I spent a full $20 on it though so I am going to use it up.

On the other hand I love my NARS laguna bronzer. It’s the perfect colour and consistency for my skin. The only problem is the packaging. I got this at a warehouse sale and it was already smashed. The packaging is big and bulky and doesn’t protect the bronzer well so it keeps breaking.

To make my new bronzer I scraped out all the powder I had left from my butter bronzer and put it in a bowl.

Then I added about half of the laguna bronzer in the bowl (this is a large size bronzer). I mashed it together with a fork and then put it back in the butter bronzer packaging.

I mixed in some rubbing alcohol with the powder until it was smooth and then pressed it down flat with a paper towel. I pressed it with a tissue a few more times and left it overnight to dry. Here is my final result:

I used it this morning and it looks quite nice. It’s a very natural colour. It still smells like butter bronzer but some of the very small gold shimmers from laguna are there.
